Gigi Dawe

Gigi Dawe is a corporate governance leader with a pragmatic and strategic approach as a board member, educator and trusted advisor for companies and individuals responsible for the oversight of organizations. She is a recognized authority in corporate governance practices and the oversight of risk management, strategy, and sustainability issues that affect organizations.

Gigi launched the governance discipline at Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada to facilitate enhanced board and executive response to emerging market demands. She has created and produced public forums, presentations and guidance publications. She established practical, relevant tools for boards that achieved enhanced board oversight of strategy and material risks. Gigi is a sought-out speaker and author in the areas of corporate governance, sustainability and board oversight of risk management.

She is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors, the Institute of Corporate Directors, and the International Corporate Governance Network.

Gigi obtained a Master of Laws at Osgoode Hall Law School. She teaches corporate responsibility and ethics in the Masters of Financial Accountability program at York University.
