Kirthana Singh Khurana

Kirthana Singh Khurana is a PhD student at the Peter A. Allard School of Law, University of British Columbia, researching the integration of technology with corporate governance. Her work examines how artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies reshape corporate transparency, accountability, sustainability, and directors’ fiduciary duties. She has published extensively in law journals and co-authored A Textbook of Legal Studies for Class XII (CBSE Board) for Indian schools.

Before pursuing her PhD, Kirthana earned her Master of Laws degree from Yale Law School, where she was awarded the prestigious Chauncey I. Clark Scholarship. During her time at Yale, she served as Lead Editor of the Yale Journal on Regulation, as well as Notes and Comments Editor, Senior Submissions Advisor, and Lead Editor for the Yale Law & Policy Review. Additionally, Kirthana worked as a research assistant with the Yale Initiative on Sustainable Finance under the Yale Centre for Business and the Environment. She also holds a Master’s degree in Corporate Law from the University of Cambridge, where she received the Darwin College Prize for academic excellence. Her undergraduate studies were in law and commerce at the University of Delhi, India.

Kirthana previously served as an Assistant Professor and Assistant Dean (Academic Affairs) at Jindal Global Law School in India, where she taught courses on corporate and securities laws. She has also lectured at the Jindal Global Business School. Currently, she is contributing to the Canada Climate Law Initiative, developing a climate risk governance guide for directors in the technology sector.
