– Senator Rosa Galvez
Canada has committed to climate action both internationally and domestically. As part of Canada’s commitment to the Paris Agreement, the government pledged to cut emissions by at least 40-45 per cent below 2005 levels by 2030. To achieve these goals, it is necessary to ensure alignment of Canada’s whole financial system, including banks, pension funds, and insurance companies. As our governments and institutions grapple with the climate crisis, the financial sector plays a crucial role in driving positive change.
